Computers and OS's are like knives, Case rules and Buck sux! Or vice versa.

I grew up on windows since '78 and purchased a macbook in '07, I have some negative comments on Windows but I will admit that Win7 is the best Windows creation yet (IMO of course) I can't say anything bad about Mac, most “crashes” (btw the word CRASH is used by people that don’t know how to operate a computer properly, (a word which has a broad numbers of definitions in the computing world) are without a doubt 99% operator's error! I don’t have any problem with “crashes” :) A computer “tries” to do what the operator asks it too and when it’s not possible, it’s referred to as “crashed” I use the Macbook for all my important files because it’s absolutely stable and internet browsing because it’s virtually virus/spyware proof, if your house is on fire which computer will you grab on your way out the door? I’ll grab the Mac. The only rational reason I still use Windows is and don’t do a complete Mac swap-over is that I have more then 10k$ worth of Windows software and without a doubt some great ones for sure. I’m not going to bash Bill’s creation but if I wasn’t able too afford a Mac along with not knowing how to properly use it; I’d probably be bashing Mac as well. (Not really) I refuse and try not to act childish over senseless issues.

Hey, I couldn't find any other way to contact you. Feel free to not publish this comment if you want to.

I read your old article on The Apple Blog about Git tools on OS X. I'm developing one myself that just got put up as a beta. I'd like it if you could try it out and let me know what you think.

You can download the beta at http://www.doomstick.com/blog/projects/repowatch/ as well as getting some basic usage instructions.

Thanks!

"Microsoft have this new ‘jumplist’ feature – but this has always been present with the Dock by right clicking the app icon to access application specific functionality. However the OSX dock can contain ‘stacks‘, or folders. Just drop a directory on it and you’ve got an easy menu heirachy, this is not possible with the new windows 7 taskbar."

Ummmm.... YES It is possible with Windows 7, I have 7, and all you do is drag and drop, and its there. Windows 7 will ALWAYS be better than Apple's OSX Leopard. And you can say "Well Vista was a crap os, why will 7 be any different?" Whoever does say that, I agree with you that Vista was crap, but 7 is he best os out there today. Just read these 2 articles about upgrading and Apples made up reasons why Macs are better than PCs:

You can't use wildcards as such - the whole string is treated with * on either end. Very basic.

The app should only crash after selecting a photo if the photo is too big for the device's memory to have two copies in memory at once (required for rotating). Was the photo taken with the device's camera? How big is it? Also try rebooting the device.

Hi Rob,

Unfortunately Apple do not allow photos to be replaced by 3rd party software, all they allow for 3rd party devs is to save a copy in the Camera Roll. :(

Is there any way to save the photo to the original destination? I need to rotate a few photos and having them saved to the camera roll is no good because it messes up my albums :(

I think your best bet it to add a comment on the The Apple Blog retro article for now. If I ever do an updated retro collection I'll remember SnakeDOS :)

Hey Andrew,

I've read the retro and multiplayer games articles you've written. I dunno if you ever played nibbles.bas on MS-DOS, but I ported it to iPhone and the app is called Snake DOS. It's pretty retro with a DOS-like UI and has p2p over bluetooth.

I'd be happy to provide you some promo codes if it looks interesting to you. here's some links..

www.snakedos.com, www.itunes.com/apps/snakedos

thanks!

Not at all :( I've gone through all my backup discs over the years and while I have code from every other little project BPS is missing. Im still hoping I will stumble upon it somewhere located on one my work backups but I've exhausted everywhere I can think of.

Any luck finding the source code? I like how small and simple the application is, but I'd like to add the ability to run scripts to map certain drives depending on which network you are connected to. Thanks.

Thankyou very much for this. I knew there must be somewhere it could be configured but I kept searching for it in the Virtual Machine preferences, not in the actual Parallel's preferences. Duh.

I was getting so frustrated with doing ALT-Left Arrow while typing in a text area in IE and having the browser navigate back in history. This has saved me from that frustration.
